Worcester Business Journal – Ameresco begins construction on $33M energy resilience project for federal agency
Ameresco is working on completing another project involving a large contract, as the Framingham-based energy resiliency company has initiated construction of a $33-million project on behalf of the National Archives and Records Administration. The project, announced in a Monday press release from Ameresco, will see the company modernize infrastructure to reduce emissions at two NARA sites in College Park, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.
Ameresco will implement building automation systems at the two sites to reduce annual fossil fuel consumption by 72%, decrease utility water use by 48%, and reduce electricity use by 28%. A grant by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Assisting Federal Facilities with Energy Conservation Technologies Program will allow Ameresco to add solar rooftop installations and electrical vehicle charging stations to the sites
