Frequently Asked Questions – University Hall (601)
Q – Why is the university performing this project?
A –The air handling units, which provide heating and cooling to the building are from the 1960’s and in need of replacement.
Q – What work is the University performing?
A – Air handling units on each floor are being replaced, and thermostats in University Hall offices are being upgraded to digital.
Q – Where is the work taking place?
A – This project includes work in areas including offices, public spaces, and mechanical rooms throughout the building. During construction, one elevator will be reserved for contractor use so that materials can be brought into the building. The contractor will make every effort to move most materials into the building during early morning hours before most faculty and staff arrive.

A – Please follow the link above for an anticipated schedule of construction for the project.
Q – Why am I being relocated from my office?
A – During the Air Handling Unit replacement work, the zones served by the Air Handling Units being replaced will not be provided fresh ventilation and cooling and must be vacated.
Q – What am I responsible for doing to prepare my office?
A – Please remove valuables and loose materials in preparation for cleaning. It is recommended that valuables be removed from each room and that items be put away on book shelves or in desk drawers. For example, books can remain on shelves, lose items should be stowed away in desk drawers, monitors can remain in the offices, and laptops should be removed from the offices.
Q – What will happen to my belongings left in my office?

Q – What will my office look like when I return?
A – Spaces will be left broom clean upon completion of the project.

A – The project team will be monitoring air quality during all phases of construction.
Q – Who should I contact if I have any questions?
