Summary
As a long-term energy partner with London’s Kingston Hospital, Ameresco has carried out a number of efficiency projects to reduce the hospital’s energy consumption. Our current project incorporated a solar PV array as part of a roof replacement that was planned for the hospital’s maternity ward. Installing the array on the overall roofing system resulted in costs savings for the replacement while helping to mitigate the rising costs of electricity.
“The Ameresco Team were very easy to work with and we are thrilled with the results of our first solar panel project.”

Looking to reduce energy costs and the hospital’s carbon output, they partnered with us on a roof replacement project to install a solar PV array on the maternity ward building which included:
- 189 kWp solar PV array custom designed and developed to incorporate in roof replacement
- Additional health and safety considerations while working at a fully live hospital
- Close collaboration with the roofing contractors to avoid delays or interferences with ongoing construction work
