Summary
In response to the Climate Change Act in 2008, by which the UK Government set legally binding targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the Swansea Council selected Ameresco to optimise the energy efficiency of its property portfolio. The project goals also included improving the energy performance of its assets through measured and verified energy efficiency upgrades and/or energy generation, reducing CO2 emissions, while generating annual cost savings and/or income generation.
“Swansea Council worked with Ameresco to deliver energy and carbon reduction projects throughout our corporate portfolio. Ameresco identified the measures to reduce consumption and then implemented Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) such as Building Fabric upgrades, LED lighting, Solar PV, Controls upgrades, heating optimisation to name a few. The Council and Ameresco worked in partnership to deliver the successful project and are looking to work together on further phases of work in the future.”
